Diwali Delights
I've been looking forward to Diwali for quite a long time because you get to have a nice Indian feast. Yes, one of the best things about holidays is the food.

My neighbours gifted us with a plate of some sweets on Sunday. Very kind of them.

Some don't really look Indian and I suspect they probably aren't but what I tried was tasty.

Sheryl's array of Indian sweets and snacks. The brown blobs at the back are my favourite. Sweetened condensed milk with sweet spices deepfried. Actually most of it is probaby deep-fried, rendering it very fattening indeed. I didn't try the puff things at the back but I'm told they were very hard to bite. I'm unsure of most of the ingredients. The white balls had coconut. The rest probably all a mixture of condensed milk and different spices. The offwhite balls at the front have the texture of sand but taste sugary. Very unique.

Chicken curry. A little hard to make out on account of the steam blurring up the picture.

Indian fried rice. Very flavourful.

A type of Indian flat bread. Great for soaking up curry.

Hot soup puffing up clouds of steam.

This dish contained two of my favourite vegetables: spinach and aubergine. Despite it's appearances it was quite tasty. I would have had more had it not been for the abundance of other dishes on the table.

A yoghurt based dish with something similar to falafel but not falafel.

This was my favourite, a yellow curry dish with the falafel like thing.

This is a very delicious peach torte served with a deliciuos nutty icecream and kiwifruit.
