Post-Assignment Celebration!
Hooray! An update, at last! Let the gastronomic delights be adored!

I found myself with a sushi craving as the hours ticked closer to noon. I particularly had a craving for eel. I headed to Bien Sushi and Donburi on Shortland St. I decided to keep my meal light to save room for dessert so I just go 4 pieces. Despite, the miniture proportions I carefully savored every bite and every bite was delicious!

On the top left is my beloved teriyaki eel sushi. I love the texture of eel - it's so moist and soft. It goes perfectly with teriyaki. However, for some reason the addition of the teriyaki makes me think it tastes like chicken but with a nicer texture. I've yet to discover what eel actually tastes like.

On the top right is sushi with pork in a sweet miso sauce. Tasty but nothing prolific. I like anything with miso.

On the bottom left is squid sushi. I quite liked this. It tasted different to the other raw squid I have had. Hard to describe but it had a definite seafood taste unlike the eel.

On the bottom right is my favourite (next to the eel), inari sushi. You can't go wrong with inari. Sweet vinegar rice in sweet bean curd. It's double the sweet and triple the satisfaction.

After my little Japanese feast, I headed to Michel's Patisserie near Chancery to have the post-assignment celebration cake I have been planning. It's a good enough excuse to eat cake, though one shouldn't really need an excuse to eat cake. I stared a long time at the glass display, full of so many cakes and pastries that I could have happily eaten all of. I finally settled on the chocolate mousse cake and a hot chocolate. The cake was good (not amazing though). It was made of light moist chocolate sponge layered with light chocolate mousse and topped with chocolate ganache. The hot chocolate was pretty good too, though I've yet to find a hot chocolate that really makes me jump for joy. I rate this higher than average though because some tend not to have enough chocolate or have a bitter taste that I will only allow in blocks of dark chocolate.

So that was my day in fooding. I thought y'all would appreciate my update. I had you in mind as I was eating.
