Birthday Yumminess and More!
I've had some good eats lately and I was prepared enough to create some food porn for y'all. Yes because there is no porn like food porn! :P

As everyone knows (or should know) Monday was my birthday and you always have to have at least one good celebratory meal on your birthday. It may not be written down in stone anywhere, but it is a well-known rule. If you haven't heard of it, you are ignorant. Maybe not ultimately ignorant, but at least naive to the foodie ways. Sheryl took Ma and I out for some lunch. We ended up at a place whose name I cannot remember. I should really take photos of exteriors for that reason. Eh, if you live in Howick, it is that restaurant/bar on the corner of the Prospect building that keeps changing hands. Anyways, beautiful weather and a delicious meal. We sat outside and the waitress was nice enough to put up the umbrella to protect my lovely ivory skin. After much perusing of the menu we ordered garlic bread, a pizza and some fries to share but being that my stomach seems to dwarf most other peoples stomachs, I ended up eating at least 50% of the food.

Firstly the garlic bread. Crisp baked pita bread with a yummy slathering of garlic. I love garlic so you can really not go wrong with this.

Our pizza was vegetarian and contained spinach, mushroom, caramelised onion and feta cheese. It was delicious and fresh. Unlike many pizzas you get, it also didn't taste like it was dripping in fat and grease. This enhanced the flavours which were each distinct but harmonious. It's probably the tastiest and healthiest pizza I have ever consumed.

Lastly, we shared a side of fries which were also extremely tasty. Probably the best fries I have eaten next to Burger Fuel spud fries. They were light, thin and very crisp. I normally need ketchup or aioli for fries but these were so good they were perfectly wonderful on their own.

While out shopping on Thursday, I also ate a very tasty meal from a Korean place inside an Asian food court on a street just off K-Road (next door to Xia). It looks huge here but rest assured I did not and probably could not have eaten that enormous pile of meat by myself. Miah helped me devour it and I mean devour. We almost had chopstick fights over who would eat the last pieces. hehe.

The BBQ pork was really good. It almost didn't taste like pork though. It was sliced thin and almost reminded me of chicken in some way. There was also rice, miso soup and what might possibly be kimchi (I forget, correct me if I am wrong).

Just Like Drinking An After Dinner Mint!
I went to The Office today. Oh, how I love that place! I was so excited when I walked in the door. My heart swelled. I felt as if I had come home as I walked up those steps to the mezzanine, drink in hand and sat myself down in a comfy armchair. It's like my second living room. I just feel so comfortable. Say what you will about Starbucks but they give me a cozy place to kick my feet up and refuel.

Today I decided to try the Iced Chocolate Peppermint drink. Yum. It is just like drinking an after dinner mint! (winks at Linda) Delicious. It may be one of my new fave drinks. I just wish there were more of it. It disappeared too fast. If you are passing by Starbucks stop by and try one. Cool, refreshing and sweet. They have quite an array of chocolate drinks for the Yule season. Chocolate is definitely one of the best ways to celebrate anything.
